longest wall in the world, a fearsome feat of ancient defen-
sive architecture. Its winding cross-country trail and steep
mountains offer stunning scenery. It deserves its place among
the New Seven Wonders of the World and UNESCO World Heritage
Sites in China.
The wall stretches from the western border of China to the east coast

However, in 1974, farmers digging a well discovered one of the
greatest archaeological sites in the world. In 1987, it became a
World Cultural Heritage Site.
This is important because hundreds of life-size detailed
models represent the army that defeated all other Chinese armies
during the Warring States period (475-221 BC) and which was a
decisive factor in the formation of a unified China. This raises intere-
sting questions about why this was done that await your conside-
ration when confronting soldiers of the past.
3. The Forbidden City in Beijing

Once it was a "palace city" where ordinary people were forbidden
to enter. An extravagant showcase of ancient Chinese architecture,
over 8,000 rooms with golden roofs are elegantly decorated and
painted in red and yellow colors.
24 emperors lived there. The World Cultural Heritage, now known
to the Chinese as the "Palace Museum", is a treasure trove of
Chinese cultural and historical relics.

of Shanghai. It showcases the world with its colonial European buil-
dings and skyscrapers across Huangpu, home to one of the
world's leading business districts.
The Bund was the most prosperous area in Shanghai in the late 19th
and early 20th centuries. When the first British company opened
an office in the Bund in 1846, it was the epitome of elegance.
5. The Li River in Guilin

The karst landscape along the Li River has won the hearts of
artists. Generations of Chinese artists and poets have been
inspired by the beauty of nature, using their pens and brushes
to capture breathtaking natural landscapes.
It is currently a popular photography destination. When Chinese
travelers are looking for a place for natural beauty, they first think
of the Li and Yangshuo River.
The 83-kilometer stretch of Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo
is the most beautiful. The river landscape is surrounded by striking
hills, steep cliffs and farm villages, as well as bamboo groves.
The Li River has been named one of the "top ten bodies of water
in the world" by the American National Geographic magazine.
Several internationally famous personalities have visited the Lee
River, including former US presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush,
